I've been saying for years that I had my nipples surgically removed (a business expense) purely for convenience' sake. After all, with all the internet rules regarding censorship and nudity, it really was easier to just have the damn things taken off. And the following photo proves it...

In addition to doing Something Fun for my final JNT Monthly Photo Shoot of 2014, I also wanted to take advantage of the awful LA winter weather, and go all out, over the top glamorous at the beach! I'm talking, worthy of an Olivia De Berardinis painting level of glamorous. A quick trip to the LA Shopping District, plus a little unofficial help from Ferrero Rocher and a perfectly pink bottle of Barefoot Bubbly, and I was ready to bring out my inner diva for a truly rhinestone inspired

Oh, the perks to living in Los Angeles! I often have friends that come and visit (check out Tea Time with Jin!) and I am "forced" to venture out and See the Sites. One destination that almost always makes the list...? Shopping in Hollywood. Duh.

As with all shopping ventures, sometimes I walk out empty handed. *So sad, right??* On these such occasions I return home, my wallet happy but my heart weighed down with deep, soul-searching questions . . .

'Why the fuck do shorts cost MORE than jeans??'

'Why the fuck isn't there a committee in charge of mercilessly executing the guilty parties behind improperly lit dressing rooms??'

'Why the fuck am I at least three different body types?? Am I, like, a friggen People Platypus??'

Days like these, I know that a little retail therapy and living life as a confident, properly-lit adult were just not meant to be. The other days however, the triumphant shopping days that fill me with inspiration and help tone my arms from all the bags I hafta carry back up to my apartment, make my little modeling heart happy!

So let's chat about the most recent occasion that . . .

. . . I left with more than I had planned!

My last such adventure was on Mah Ma'Fuckin' Burfday and led me to a fabulous shop called Love Melrose (I bet you can't guess what street it's on). And, of course, you already know that the universe sent me to the perfect photographer and an incredible location to properly model my new additions!

I first got the idea for my July JNT "Lady Liberty" shoot while participating as a hair model for the Wella Trend Vision contest (post on that soon to come!). I saw how easily I could get my hair to liberty spike and immediately envisioned Punk Rock Lad Liberty. I really wanted to push the concept though, and spent many hours discussing with photographer/bodypainter Todd Powers and his wife artist/wardrobist Jen Raven regarding just what message I wanted to convey, and how to properly convey it. Thus, Lady Liberty, Bound & Gagged was also created.

This is the first time I've really pushed my art into the realm of 'political statement,' and I'm so excited with how everything has turned out.. But I am even more excited to see the world's reaction to this shoot!

All of us involved in this shoot agreed that the story here is powerful, but that there's potential for so much more! These photos would make perfect messengers.. but what's the message..? While talking shop with Carlos Murillo Photography one absurdly warm February day in Bakersfield, it came up that he would absolutely LOVE to shoot at Wonderland Studios in Anaheim and take advantage of the amazing Wonderland Corsets. Would I be interested, he asked? 

Ummmm........

It was a GREAT day.

Cheri Wilson Chagollan, the incredible creator of Wonderland Corsets and owner of Wonderland Studios, was such a sweetheart and had so much fun styling me that I wanted to stay and play 'dress up' as her little doll forever and ever!

All adventures must come to an end, however, and this one most certainly did NOT end in me eating PIE and hot chocolate for dinner. NOPE.
