While talking shop with Carlos Murillo Photography one absurdly warm February day in Bakersfield, it came up that he would absolutely LOVE to shoot at Wonderland Studios in Anaheim and take advantage of the amazing Wonderland Corsets. Would I be interested, he asked? 

Ummmm........

It was a GREAT day.

Cheri Wilson Chagollan, the incredible creator of Wonderland Corsets and owner of Wonderland Studios, was such a sweetheart and had so much fun styling me that I wanted to stay and play 'dress up' as her little doll forever and ever!

All adventures must come to an end, however, and this one most certainly did NOT end in me eating PIE and hot chocolate for dinner. NOPE.

I often joke during shoots that I don't smile for photos. Being a glamour/alt/fashion model doesn't often mean big smiles for the camera. Not only that, but once I break into a smile I think it's pretty obvious what a dork I am. 

Get this little lady in the ocean though....

*GASP!*

I can't help it!

Keep one foot in the sand, one in the stars. That's how I try to live.

This photo shoot with Killshot Photography was an awesome excuse to spend one last day in the gorgeous sands of Southern California before starting my Spring Model Tour and temporary move to Eugene, Oregon.

Now that I am officially returned from my trip to Boise, I feel comfortable posting about my purpose in this visit.  While the reason for my Idaho trip was in fact due to an upcoming film project (a documentary/reality/behind the scenes project! Stay tuned!!) I got to pick the dates for my visit.

I very specifically timed this trip so as to be in Idaho on April 3rd...

You see, it was one year ago on April 3rd, 2012 that my mother died.
On the year anniversary of that date there was no place I wanted to be more than with my two little sisters in the Meridian cemetery where our mother is buried. 

A purple butterfly, our mother's favorite. I'm the top foot followed by my two little sisters. We were 23, 20, & 17 when she died. Our mom was two months away from 46.

I won't get into the details of our Mother's passing, but this post is definitely on the more personal side.  As with most of my posts though, I do in fact have a photo set that I would like to share with you.  These photos were actually taken only a couple hours after leaving the hospital where, after 6 weeks of tests, tears, and prayers; we took our Mother off of life support and held her hand, and each other, as she slipped away into a new existence; one free of pain, free of suffering, and free of the injustice she had fought for so long.


If I am an artist (I am) then my body is my canvas.

So perhaps you've heard of a little group around here known as
Kern Models and Photographers..? If not, you should! This awesome group is a great collab run by Dan Spencer and Rachelle "Rocky" Deaton, and is an amazing place on the Facebook to encourage and share with others interested in the modeling/photography industry.
Oh, we also get together from time to time hee hee.

Some of the best folks in the world right here.. Here's some of the KMaP crew at C&B's recent studio Grand Opening event. Dan is on the left, followed by new admin Carrie Newman, and then Rocky in the back row.

I've recently had the pleasure of collaborating with one of Bakersfield's
most creative minds; an energetic and contagiously enthusiastic
photographer and artist known as Crysco.
While Crysco currently has many projects in the works (a couple of which I am planning to be part of!) most his recent creative efforts have gone towards Masked Models.
Would I be interested, he wondered.
Why yes of course, I said.
You know me though, I like to always try and do things a little different. So instead of an actual mask, I suggested to Crysco
that perhaps we do a painted one.

He was on board.
