Every time Jin N Tonic teams up with the infamous Corpsy of Girls and Corpses Magazine (a pleasure I've had manymany times over the past couple years) you already know it's going to be a hell of an adventure. And teaming up with Corpsy to co-host red carpet interviews here in LA?
I can't imagine a better way to spend a Saturday.
Corpsy: [referring to Mrs Chong] Who is this beautiful woman you're with?
Mr. Chong: I dunno I just picked her up on the road there .. She was lookin' for a ride.
Jin & Mrs Chong : Laughs and are fabulous.
So of course I was excited that My Travel Schedule made room for the latest Girls And Corpses-sponsored event: The Etheria Film Fest, a full day of sci-fi and horror genre short films featuring women directors, set at The Aero Theater in Santa Monica.
Just in case you are one of us hip, modern folks with a 3 second attention span, you can just CLICK HERE TO SKIP STRAIGHT TO THE VIDEO. Or, if you're a sweetheart and keep reading, there's more photos from the full day of booze, boobs, blood, and babes, not to mention some truly awesome fucking cinema. (Also, I'll be posting the video at the end of the blog - so just hang in there!)
The entire amazing event was built around a special showing of a truly unique and *spell-binding* film, "The Love Witch." Shot on legit, old-school 35mm film, the entire movie is a feast for your eyes and follows a gorgeous young witch, played by the gorgeous young Samantha Robinson, who is determined to bring love into her life, no matter the cost.
Beautifully told and already taking over the festival circuit, director Anna Biller has created a cult classic in the modern day. Let's just say, I would put this movie on at a party, and that means a LOT. It even featured a cameo from my incredible burlesque friend, Miss April Showers.
Although if you ask me, the real show-stopper of the day, even more than the celebs, the gore, the awards, and the free booze, may actually have been the fully customized, '58 Cadillac Hearse courtesy of owner Nik White.
The ladies LOVE a Caddy..
So many thanks for joining me, guys! It was an awesome day and they were ALL truly awesome films - so many congrats to the directors of each and a big shout out to the amazing event organizers! Plus of corpse Sir Corpsy for having me along as part of the fun.
And if you haven't already, be sure to follow me on Periscope for LIVE behind the scenes video at future adventures! This #WhiteGurlBootay is goin' places, and I'm taking you with me!
