Day 17 - Heading Home (Paris, France to Brussels, Belgium)

Well, this is it. As I type this we are crossing through the boarder between France and Belgium. As with everywhere I have been on this trip, Paris was a whirlwind adventure. After arriving my first day, I went off in search of a post office to send out the promised postcards to my higher tier GoFunders, adventured on the Paris Metro System which, by the way, I absolutely LOVE – everything about it is so simple and so fast and just makes so much sense; what a crazy concept! – and I found myself crying at the sight of the Eiffel Tower, before walking the 1 km away from said Eiffel Tower to my amazing airbnb room, all while wearing the worlds heaviest backback and dragging the worlds heaviest, purple suitcase.

Europe has truly kicked my ass BUT I’m still standing, which leaves me no other option but to believe that I am now Strong As Fuck. This trip has been a giant intro paragraph to an exciting new chapter for me.

Day 14 - Putting the Can in Cannes (Cannes Film Festival)

Bonsoir mes amours!
what a fucking day it has been. where to start? i suppose the beginning.. 8:30 am breakfast with my crew of boys, all of whom headed off to the festival while I stayed to accomplish some quick laundry - nope - and catch the shuttle in right behind them - nuh-uh - France, like Italy, is full of lies.

Day 13th - France. Wow. (Florence, Italy to Cannes Film Festival)

What a beautiful and eery day of travel it has been. Rain and fog, and walking/carrying/lifting the worlds heaviest suitcase through two european countries aka cobblestone as fuuuuuck. And through all that I have ended up at Cannes for the annual Cannes Film Festival - which is good because I meant to do that.

Day 12 Parte Due - Tuesday In Tuscany (Florence, Italy)

Bounjourno!!!

That's about all the italian that I have for you - which I can't lie, has been really super trying. Not only is it anxiety producing for me to go into a new country, completely broke, with crazy, full-of-shit gps signal (seriously, try to be more full of lies, google maps), but I also feel like a complete asshole looking someone in the eyes - about 200 times today - and telling them that I don't speak italian. And why is that I feel better saying that in spanish than I do in english..? I guess at the very least, it shows that I'm trying?. Still, it's kinda bullshit to think any italians will understand my shit spanish, just like I didn't understand much if any of the Italian spoken to me today.

Thank Gawd for Trina Merry. Seriously.

Picture
hard to see, but there's me, looking like a giant, bald freckle, and the absolutely delightful Trina Merry without whom many of my life's adventures would not have been possible, and sprawling behind us is the beautiful city of Florence. It was good to us. Click da pic for a look at some of my other adventures with this incredible artist!

Day 12; Vegan Burgers and Catch Up (IN Air, Barcelona, Spain - Florence, Italy)

Tuesday - ohmygoodness, did I really not write at all during my adventure day in Barcelona??

We can just say it was because I was so busy off exploring, which is kinda true but we could also more accurately blame the delicious $4 bottle of wine I purchased my first night there and the fact that I starting binge watching Modern Family.. So my "home time" was a bit preoccupied.

Picture
making friends and fun shapes in new places and getting soaked in the rain at the "Arc De Triomf"

And of course there was in fact a truly overwhelming amount of adventure around the beautiful Gothic Area of Barcelona as well. I wouldn't go all the way to Spain just to stay in my room! (As tempting as that always is...)

Day 10 - Barcelona, Bitches! (Barcelona, Spain - Duh)

Hello Sunday Bumday!!

I am officially getting my butts, literally, together to share with all of you! Can I just say, that bad internet is bad? Especially as I'm on a quest to get better at focusing on one thing at a time, but I also can't justify staring at a loading page for 3-20 minutes, so I'm jumping around tabs like a local peligroso! (a local "dangerous" aka, the old guys who close the bar out, and are there the following morning, and are basically professional drinkers - yesterday's photographer Arturo told me about them when I pointed out the nice grandpa's going to the bar at 7am today as he was taking me to the train station - all of which was super sweet of him!).

better internet connection.. that way! "to america!"

Day 9 - The First Photo Shoot (Fuengirola, Spain)

Saturday - Aye q mejor
^^ that right there is a little spanish play on words when contrasted with yesterday's post, but i'm probably just too cool for you to get it.

Basically, today was a much better day. Despite the five hours sleep, the many pains i woke up with, and a couple of different physical and mental crashes - it was a Good Day! There was a lot of pushing myself, but it resulted in a wonderful shoot with Mirart Photo followed by a very .. eventful dinner (it amazes me how somehow, always, the vegetarian dish takes at least twice as long to cook as anything else. always. the joke is that nobody orders that shit, so when i come along they have to send out someone to the grocery store.)

Day 8 - The Beginning of Goodbyes

Friday - Aye q dolor. Prepare yourself for a rather bitchy/venting-style post.. I woke up today wishing for more sleep, especially after yesterday and today's broken promises of an afternoon siesta. I also woke up with a lot of emotional tension in the right side of my upper back which I've done my best to release over the day. What I really need though is some skilled masseuse hands or, what would work just as well if not more so, a hug from the man I love. . . But I would also take a massage in a heart beat.

I've been gone from my beautiful LA home roughly ten days now, and each one has been just a bit exhausting. Hard to believe I flew to Spain just a week ago. . .

After this mornings yoga sesh, I mentioned to our instructor Karen the pain I was having, and she pushed down on my shoulders a little bit and said in her thick, adorable, Peruvian accent, "ah yes, you need to do more heart openers; Finish crying." She is so wise. From there I don't know where the day went, but I know I have a full list of to-dos that I only accomplished two of, I need to be up in six hours, and what I want more than anything in the world is toast (am I dying??).

Day 7 - Catching A Breath (Not)

It's a little past ten in the morning now, which is probably a bit early to write about my day, but I'm technically a day behind and it is wonderfully, lightly rainy and the rain always makes me want coffee (seattle makes sense to me in that way), a desire which I indulged in this morning, so I am full of The Caffeine (a rare thing) and feeling a bit too twitchy to just sit and read SO HERE WE GO!
