There is that brief moment at nearly every photo shoot, where I arrive, 50+ lbs of luggage in tow, and knock on the door to the home or studio of an absolute, complete stranger, where I stop and pause and think to myself how weird my life must sound when explained out loud.
At the very least it would be fair to say that my life is full of surprises. And often, they are quite incredibly beautiful.
You know those wonderful moments in life when you end up getting exactly what you needed, without ever having realized that it was what you needed in the first place?
This beautiful, serene, and memorable photo shoot with Bill Moisuk of Bill M Photography was exactly one of those moments.
I had the absolute pleasure of working with the darling Bill M on my recent NorthEast Model Tour. Boston had been calling my name (Jin! Ya Fahk!!), and I had an absolute blast visiting the land of "Massholes" (self-titled and quite proud of it!) for the very first time, making my inaugural visit to many cities and towns all over Rhode Island, Massachusetts, plus of course a quick visit down to the semi-familiar and always-exciting NYC.
I'll shut tha fahk up for a moment to share with you some of our lovley photos...
My photo shoot with Bill was #10 on my trip (and only on day 6! jeez jin..) and he had no way of knowing how his beautiful, small home, warm smile, simple shooting style, and penchant to long breaks and deep conversation, not to mention the companionship of the darling, big-boned and humble-hearted Charlie the cat, would become one of the highlights of my entire NorthEast Tour.
The friendly, familiar, and low-key shooting style and overall personality of Bill was especially welcome, as the day before had been filled with two very demanding photoshoots, and hours of listening to the equally demanding google maps as I "explored" my many route options all along the NE coast.
Just to be clear, both photographers were incredibly talented, professional, creative, and knew exactly what they were going for, and I, as a model, am there above all else to bring their visions to reality. So there was no bitterness or condenscending undertones to their many, many, many demands. It's just after a collective 7 hours of "move this, stand there, change that, wear this, foot here, arm up, face higher, arch more, bend less, why are you crying" - you feel a little extra exhausted!
My morning with Bill left me feeling as though I had made a friend, and was a wonderful way to start what became an incredibly hectic day (*how weird!!*). The entire experience was rejuvenating, and the many, many, many results that Bill was too gracious to share with me, and gave permission to share with all of you, could not have turned out lovelier.
So I hope you like them! They're wicked awesome. I had SUCH a blast on my entire NE trip and I do hope to work with Bill M and many other amazing photographers out that way again soon! Stay
